Bold Mesoamerican geometry - the angular, vibrant patterns of the Aztec civilization for striking fashion and home collections with cultural depth.
๐ฌ Inquire on WhatsApp Get Bulk PriceAztec prints are inspired by the geometric textile and artistic traditions of the Aztec (Mexica) civilization of pre-Columbian Mexico, as well as more broadly from Mesoamerican visual culture. Characterized by bold angular geometric patterns - stepped pyramids, sun wheels, diamond grids, stylized serpent forms, and angular eagle and jaguar motifs - in high-contrast colour combinations, Aztec prints have a bold, graphic, and energetic visual quality.
The term "Aztec print" is sometimes used loosely to describe a range of angular geometric patterns inspired by various pre-Columbian cultures including the Maya, Inca, and other Mesoamerican and Andean traditions.
The Aztec Empire (1300-1521 AD) had a sophisticated textile culture - woven mantas (cloaks), huipiles (tunics), and tilmas (cloaks) featured complex geometric patterns that conveyed social status and ritual significance. Aztec textile patterns were documented by Spanish colonizers and later entered global design vocabulary through the Mexican influence on 1920s Art Deco design, the American Southwest fashion of the 1960s-70s, and multiple fashion revivals since.
Aztec prints have maintained consistent commercial presence in fashion since the early 2010s bohemian-ethnic trend, particularly strong in women's fashion, accessories, and home textiles. The bold geometric quality makes Aztec prints excellent for activewear, festival fashion, and statement home decor pieces.
Aztec's bold geometric patterns work across many fabric types. Clothwala recommends:
Structured base for crisp Aztec geometric lines - great for bags and home textiles
Flowing fabric for Aztec fashion pieces with movement
Stretch Aztec for activewear and contemporary fashion
Natural earthy aesthetic for Aztec-inspired summer fashion
Crisp Aztec shirts and jackets for bold casualwear
Aztec is a core print for festival, boho, and outdoor event fashion
Aztec-inspired geometrics are strong in yoga and fitness fashion
Aztec bags, belts, and accessories have strong retail appeal
Aztec throws, cushions, and rugs are popular in global home decor
Aztec shirts and swimwear for bold summer menswear collections

Printed fabric is what built Clothwala. We do digital printing, screen printing, and rotary printing on multiple base fabrics. Digital print MOQ is 200 meters, screen print MOQ is 500 meters. We invested in our own digital printing setup in 2022 which cut turnaround time from 15 days to 5 days. We print on crepe, georgette, chiffon, cotton, and rayon bases.
Tip 1: Check the GSM rating before ordering. Heavier GSM means more body and structure, lighter GSM gives more flow.
Tip 2: Colour fastness varies by dye lot. We recommend ordering all your fabric for a single collection in one go to ensure colour consistency.
Over 800 textile mills operate in the Surat-Pandesara-Sachin belt, where Clothwala sources most of its polyester range.
Q: Do you provide fabric samples?
Yes. We send free samples for orders above Rs 10,000. For smaller enquiries, we charge Rs 50-100 per sample cut which is adjusted against your first bulk order.
