What is Polyester Fabric?
Polyester is a synthetic fabric made from polyethylene terephthalate (PET) polymer fibres. It is the world's most widely produced textile fibre and India's highest-volume fabric category by weight. Polyester's low absorbency makes it less breathable than cotton, but this also means prints stay bright longer as colours don't bleed during washing.

Polyester was developed by DuPont in the USA in the 1940s and became commercially dominant in the 1960s and 1970s as affordable fashion fabric.
